I am From poem

I Am From

by Dawn

I am from

a piano playing memories

from

sunshine and trees

I am from

comfort and safety

and

ticklish knees

I am from

a stubby chestnut tree

whose

loving branches reached down to pick me up

I am from

cabbage patch dolls and wooden blocks

from

Prindles and Eligs

and from

stubborn wills and loving hugs

from

"You can do anything you set your mind to."

I am from

camping trips and Sunday drives

from

stuffed mangos and oreo cookies

from

weekends spent at Weezie's

and from

Crazy Al's book of poems.

A piggy bank filled with change from the cushions

I am from the moments

watching Saturday morning cartoons with my Dad

I am from sunshine, trees, and memories.
